Guard against hay fever

Hay fever, also known as allergic rhinitis, is an allergic reaction that commonly occurs during spring and early summer when there are high levels of pollen in the air. The defences in the body over react to pollen causing the release of a substance called histamine. The histamine causes hay fever symptoms including an itchy or runny nose, an impaired sense of smell, itchy or watery eyes, an itchy mouth, an itchy or sore throat, itchy skin, sneezing, coughing, wheezing and headaches. To guard against hay fever: Use a hay fever treatment at the first sign of symptoms.

Allergic rhinitis can also occur year round when there is an allergy to animal dander, mould or dust mites. There are many hay fever treatment options available. Your Guardian Pharmacist can advise you on the most appropriate treatment for the type and severity of your hay fever symptoms.

Although there are no cures, talk to your local Guardian pharmacist about the range of available treatments to help relieve symptoms and make you feel more comfortable.
Incorrect use could be harmful. Always read the label. Use only as directed. If symptoms persist see your pharmacist or doctor.
